Tim & Turvy's Story
Hi, I am Barbara Wills,
I am the caretaker of a small shelter that handles mostly cats, but currently we do have a
few rats, 1 hamster and 2 older dogs. From what I understand we are also the only shelter
in this area that handles CH cats/kittens as well as other special needs. I live with the
special need cats/kittens and handle the rehab that is necessary to ensure them a happy
life. Tim and Turvy are 2 wonderful CH kitties that came from a clinic that was willing to
board them for 3 weeks (they were tiny). The doctor evaluated them and realized that they
were happy, loving kittens in need of a space to realize what they could become, so she
called me. I already had them named before i went to see them. Turvy is the smarter of the
2, she hides her mouse and hunts it down, she is determined to get on the top perch of the
cat tree (blankets under it). She is the one to make sure newcomers to her area (my
bedroom, craft areas) know that she is boss! Tim is a toe cat, his vision isn't real
great, narrowed focus, but he can sure find and bit your toes, it's his best game! They
both love paperwads, Turvy gets very excited just hearing the paper crinkle into the ball,
Tim loves it when the ball is a little larger than normal, he will play with you for quite
awhile if you are throwing the paperwads. They both sleep with me(I should say on me) It
took me six months to convince Tim that sleeping on my face was not a great idea, Turvy
likes me to have her under my arm for awhile before she is truly settled in They are a joy
to watch and loving, Tim will chirp at you to hold him. Turvy also likes you to play chase
with her, I tell her I am going to get you tail and she is off, slipping and sliding, but
having great fun Thanks for letting me share part of the joy of these two. Also, for those
who are wondering of the nameless little guy has a name yet, it is Keegan-fiery little
one, fits pretty well. If anyone out there has some experience with compressed spinal
injury and has some ideas for exercises to help build strength in his hindquarters that
would be great!
